Strengthening and valuing African women in research and development (R&D) is essential to promote gender equality and maximize the innovation potential on the continent. This mainly involves increasing their access to education and training, particularly in the scientific and technological fields, by making positive discrimination against them in the allocation of training grants in scientific fields. Training and especially research institutions should also put in place policies that promote the participation of women. This includes dedicated funding for projects led by women, as well as support programs to help them publish their work and participate in conferences.
